Six years ago the district projected that enrollment would flatten. It did not. Between 2020 and 2026 the student population fell by just under nine hundred, and because state funding follows students, so did roughly eleven million dollars a year.

The staffing plan was never revised to match. That is the whole story of the shortfall, and it is not a complicated one.
